【摘要】:ThisPublishedDocumentspecifiesthetechnicalpurchaseandsupplyrequirementsforthefollowingwroughtsemi-finishedproductsmanufacturedfromarangeofcarbon,carbonmanganese,lowalloy,free-cutting,case-hardeningandthroughhardenedsteelsforthefollowingspecialapplications:—blooms;—billets;—slabs;—bars;—rod;—flatsandwideflats.NOTEThesewroughtsteelsmaybesuppliedinthehotformedconditionorasthermallytreatedblackbar.Coldfinishedbarmaybesubjectedtopre-orpost-thermaltreatment.Itdoesnotspecifyanyboron,micro-alloyed,stainlesssteelsoranyproductsdeliveredasforgings,whichareallcoveredbyotherstandards(seeForeword).Itdoesnotapplytodirectcastproducts.PD970ispresentedinthestyleofaEuropeanStandardandreferencesotherEuropeanStandards(e.g.testmethods)whereverpossible.ThetraditionalsevendigitalphanumericUKdesignationismaintained,thoughitisimportanttonotethatthe“A”,“M”and“H”system(nominallyrepresentingAnalysis,MechanicalandHardenability)shouldnotbeconfusedwithothernomenclature.Thisappliesequallytotheconventionaltensilestrengthrangedesignations,namelyPthroughtoZwhicharestillusedinthisdocument.Certainotheraspectssuchasrequirementsforsteelmaking,deoxidationandgrainsizehavebeenrevisedtoreflectmoderntechnology.
