【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesproceduresforpetrographicexaminationandchemicalanalysisofmortarforcomponentsofmasonrymortar.Thesecomponentsmayincludeportlandcement,hydratedcalciticordolomiticlime,masonrycement,aggregates,andair.Thetestmethodconsistsofproceduresandsub-procedures,eachrequiringasubstantialdegreeofpetrographicandchemicalskillsandrelativelyelaborateinstrumentation.ThechemicaldataconsideredtogetherwithresultsofpetrographicexaminationofamortarprovideforcalculationofcomponentproportionsandthusallowadeterminationofmortarcompositionasrepresentedbyTypesM,N,S,andOinTable1(ProportionSpecificationRequirements)ofSpecificationC270.FailureofamortartohavethecompositionofanytypeasdefinedinTable1ofSpecificationC270doesnotnecessarilymeanthatthemortardoesnotmeettherequirementsofSpecificationC270.ThemortarmaymeetthealternativerequirementsofTable2(PropertySpecificationRequirements)ofSpecificationC270.Themaleicacidmethodofanalysisisnotapplicablefortheanalysisofmortarbecauseitisgreatlyinfluencedbycarbonationanddoesnotprovideforthedeterminationofcalcium.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforpetrographicexaminationandchemicalanalysisofsamplesofmasonrymortars.Baseduponsuchexaminationandanalysis,proportionsofcomponentsinmasonrymortarscanbedetermined.Note18212;Thismethodisalsoapplicabletohydrauliccement-basedstuccoandplaster.Somehistoricmortarsmaycontainnon-resolvableconstituentsthatmayinterfere.However,significantinformationmaybeobtainedbypetrographicexaminations.1.2Interpretationsandcalculationsofchemicalresultsaredependentuponresultsofthepetrographicexamination.Theuseofthechemicalresultsaloneiscontrarytotherequirementsofthistestmethod.1.3Proceduresforsampling,petrographicexamination,chemicalanalysis,andcalculationsofcomponentproportionsaregiveninthefollowingsections:SectionSampling7Petrographicexamination8Chemicalanalysis9Mortarproportioncalculations10Report11
