【摘要】:Itisknownthatcontaminationbywatercanaffecttheshearstabilityofsomegreasesinservice.Bothtestproceduresspecifiedinthismethodarewidelyusedtodeterminethewetshearstabilityofgreasesinservice.Manygreasespecificationsrequiretheseproceduresasawetshearstabilitytest.Noaccuratecorrelationisestablishedbetweenthetestresultsandwetshearstabilityofgreaseinactualservice.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstwoproceduresfordeterminingtheshearstabilityoflubricatinggreaseinthepresenceofwater(wetshearstability)byafullscalegreaseworkerorarollstabilitytestapparatus.Bothprocedurescanbeusedtodeterminetherelativewetshearstabilityofgreases,buttheresultsbetweenproceduresarenotdirectlycomparable.Thistestmethodisalsoknownasthewaterstabilitytest.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard;Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
