【摘要】:Theincreaseduseofgeomembranesasbarriermaterialstorestrictliquidorgasmovement,andthecommonuseofdualtrackseamsinjoiningthesesheets,hascreatedaneedforastandardnondestructivetestbywhichthequalityoftheseamscanbeassessedforcontinuityandwatertightness.Thetestisnotintendedtoprovideanyindicationofthephysicalstrengthoftheseam.Thispracticerecommendsanairpressuretestwithinthechannelcreatedbetweendualseamedtrackswherebythepresenceofunbondedsectionsorchannels,voids,nonhomogenities,discontinuities,foreignobjects,andthelike,intheseamedregioncanbeidentified.Thistechniqueisintendedforuseonseamsbetweengeomembranesheetsformulatedfromtheappropriatepolymersandcompoundingingredientstoformaplasticorelastomersheetmaterialthatmeetsallspecifiedrequirementsfortheenduseoftheproduct.1.1Thepracticecoversanondestructiveevaluationofthecontinuityofparallelgeomembraneseamsseparatedbyanunweldedairchannel.Theunweldedairchannelbetweenthetwodistinctseamedregionsissealedregionsissealedandinflatedwithairtoapredeterminedpressure.Longlengthsofseamcanbeevaluatedbythispracticemorequicklythanbyothercommonnondestructivetests.1.2Thispracticeshouldnotbeusedasasubstitutefordestructivetesting.Usedinconjunctionwithdestructivetesting,thismethodcanprovideadditionalinformationregardingtheseamsundergoingtesting.1.3ThispracticesupercedesPracticeD4437forgeomembraneseamsthatincludeanairchannel.PracticeD4437maycontinuetobeusedforothertypesofseams.Theuserisreferredtothereferencedstandards,ortoEPA/530/SW-91/051foradditionalinformationregardinggeomembraneseamingtechniquesandconstructionqualityassurance.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
