【摘要】:Thestaticcompression-displacementofabaseballorsoftballisamechanicalpropertywhichcancorrelatetodynamicproperties.Thistestmethodissuitableforobtainingdatainresearchanddevelopment,qualitycontrol,andclassifyingballsbythecompression-displacement.Sportsassociationscanusecompression-displacementstandardsinspecificationsforofficialbaseballsandsoftballsstandardsinspecificationsforofficialbaseballsandsoftballsforpurposesofconsistencyofperformance.Thissametestprocedurecanbeutilizedwithothercompressiveforcesandthespecifiedforceisnotnecessarilythesameasexperiencedinactualuse.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesacomparativemeasurementmethodforbaseballsandsoftballsasdefinedbyastaticcompressiondisplacementtest.1.2Thistestmethodisbasedonaslowrateforce-displacementmeasurement.1.3Thisprocedureisforbaseballsandsoftballsmeetingstandardsestablishedbythesports''governingbodies.Note18212;Sincethecompression-displacementofbaseballsandsoftballscaninfluencetheperformancecharacteristics,thistestprovidesasimplemethodtocompareandcategorizesuchballsbasedonforcelevelsinastandardizedcompression-displacementtest.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
