【摘要】:1Thisguidecoverstheminimumrequirementsfordosim-etryandabsorbed-dosevalidationneededtoconductresearchontheirradiationoffoodandagriculturalproducts.Suchresearchincludesestablishmentofthequantitativerelationshipbetweentheabsorbeddoseandtherelevanteffectsintheseproducts.Thisguidealsodescribestheoverallneedfordosimetryinsuchresearch,andinreportingoftheresults.2Thisguideisintendedforusebyresearchscientistsinthefoodandagriculturalcommunities,andnotjustscientistsconductingirradiationresearch.It,therefore,includesmoretutorialinformationthanmostotherASTMandISO/ASTMdosimetrystandardsforradiationprocessing.3Thisguideisinnowayintendedtolimittheflexibilityoftheexperimenterintheexperimentaldesign.However,theradiationsourceandexperimentalsetupshouldbechosensuchthattheresultsoftheexperimentwillbebeneficialandunderstandabletootherscientists,regulatoryagencies,andthefoodandagriculturalcommunities.4Theeffectsproducedbyionizingradiationinbiologicalsystemsdependonalargenumberoffactorswhichmaybephysical,physiological,orchemical.Althoughnottreatedindetailinthisguide,quantitativedataofenvironmentalfactorsthatmayaffecttheabsorbed-doseresponseofdosimeters,suchastemperatureandmoisturecontentinthefoodoragriculturalproductsshouldbereported.5Theoveralluncertaintyintheabsorbed-dosemeasure-mentandtheinherentabsorbed-doserangewithinthespeci-menshouldbetakenintoaccountinthedesignofanexperiment.6Theguidecoversresearchconductedusingthefollow-ingtypesofionizingradiation:gammarays,bremsstrahlungX-rays,andelectronbeams.7Thisguidedoesnotincludeotheraspectsofradiationprocessingresearch,suchasplanningoftheexperimentaldesign.Dosimetrymustbeconsideredasanintegralpartoftheexperimentaldesign.8Theguidedoesnotincludedosimetryforirradiatorcharacterization,processqualificationandroutinedosimetry;thesesubjectsaredescribedinISO/ASTMPractices51204,51431,51608,51649,and51702.TheselectionandcalibrationofdosimetrysystemsisspecifiedinISO/ASTMGuide51261.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappro-priatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplica-bilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
